During November, in partnership with the Junior League of North Virginia, we are praying for, learning about, and financially supporting Loudoun Hunger Relief (LHR). Since 1991, LHR has been dedicated to feeding the hungry in Loudoun County. St. James’ is one of Loudoun Hunger Relief’s faith congregation partners who continue to fill the same important role they always have—assisting with food collection, monetary donations, and volunteer service.
In November we are gathering food for Thanksgiving Dinner Bags for families in need through LHR. Sign up in the hallway outside the worship space to provide stuffing mix, canned vegetables, boxed potatoes, gravy, cornbread or biscuit mix, cranberry sauce or desert (or even a whole bag of goodies). Bring your items to St. James’ on November 12, and we’ll take care of delivery. And, help buy gift cards for meat or let us do the shopping by giving generously on November 12.
By the way, did you know that in 2016 St. James’ Church donated more than a ton of food (2,285 pounds, to be exact!) and $9,186.48 to this vitally important organization in our community? Congratulations!
