The Rev. Mark Feather
The Rev. Mark Feather began his ministry as Rector of St. James’ Church in January 2014. Mark came to St. James’ Church from St. Paul’s Church in Louisville, Kentucky, where he served as Rector for ten years. Before that, Mark served for two years at St. Mark’s Church and the Church of the Advent, both in Louisville, while also serving as Chaplain at the University of Louisville Interfaith Center. A life-long Episcopalian, Mark enjoyed an active lay ministry at St. Matthew’s Church in Louisville, Kentucky for eighteen years, including wide-ranging service on the diocesan level.
A graduate in chemical engineering from the University of Kentucky in 1977, Mark also earned a law degree from Stanford Law School in 1980. He then joined the prestigious law firm of Frost Brown Todd in Louisville, where he founded and chaired the Environmental Legal Services Group. After a highly successful eighteen-year career as an attorney, Mark followed God’s call to ordained ministry, graduating from Virginia Theological Seminary in 2001.
Married in 1981, Mark and his wife, Marilyn, are the proud parents of two adult children, Carl and Laura. Marilyn is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with a degree from the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. In his spare time, Mark enjoys landscape gardening, cooking, and traveling.
