We offer three worship opportunities on Sunday, each with its own identity. And we welcome children of any age in any of our worship services!
7:45 am Holy Eucharist, Rite I (Contemplative)
Our early morning worship uses the more traditional language of The Book of Common Prayer and usually does not feature music.
9:00 am Holy Eucharist, Rite II (Contemporary)
This worship service draws the largest number of families with children because it features a blend of traditional hymns with more family-friendly music and songs.
11:15 am Holy Eucharist, Rite II (Classical)
A traditional Rite II liturgy is enhanced with classical hymns and music led by an adult parish choir and musicians from the Shenandoah University Music program.
While children of any age are welcome in our worship, we offer child care for infants and toddlers in our Nursery and an Activity Room for children up through first grade during worship. We also provide a “non-anxious” area in the entry behind the glass doors where you can stay with a fussy child and still listen to worship.
We invite our younger worshipers to pick up one of our “Busy Boards” and Children’s Bulletins (for ages 3 to 6 and 7 to 12) to give children a sense of belonging in the worship experience, and so they know worship is for them, too!
Church School for all ages begins at 10:10 am each Sunday. Go to our “Christian Education Display” in the entry for more information. Join us at 10:10 am in the Fellowship Hall for our Sunday Forum for adults.
Also, each Wednesday from 12:00 Noon to 12:30 pm, we celebrate Holy Eucharist Rite II and Healing.
