QUICK FACTS

A new St. James’ Historic Cemetery Committee was commissioned in 2024.

WHY PRESERVE?
Once restored, St. James' Episcopal Church hopes this space will offer...
Remembrance
To create a quiet space where all can acknowledge and learn from the past, fostering unity and understanding within our community.
Recognition
To recognize and honor all those interred here of all races, in monuments and unmarked graves, and the stories of their contributions and lives too often overlooked by history.
Reflection
To preserve the historic cemetery as a place of peace and reflection for all who visit.

The sacred space offers a unique opportunity for the St. James' community to foster goodwill and create awareness in the Leesburg community, ultimately leading new people to our doors and to unity with God and each other through Christ.
