Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers

Lectors read the assigned Scriptures for the day. The Ministry of the Lector is to proclaim the Word of God by reading from both the Old and New Testament at church services throughout the year.

 Intercessors lead the Prayers of the People.

Lectors and Intercessors are scheduled to serve at Sunday morning services. Lectors and Intercessors are not required to be licensed and anyone with a love of Scripture and a good speaking voice can serve after a short training session.

 

Eucharistic Ministers assist with the celebration of the Eucharist by serving the chalice at the altar rail at each of our three Sunday worship opportunities, as well as on holy days. They are licensed by the Diocese of Virginia.
